Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account or using CricConnect, you agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy below. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
A. Terms of Use
1. About these Terms. CricConnect ("CricConnect", "we", "us", "our") operates an online platform that connects cricket players, teams, umpires, coaches, academies, and tournament organisers worldwide. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CricConnect website, applications, and services (the "Platform"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy below.
2. Eligibility & accounts. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. A parent or legal guardian may create and manage an account relating to a minor and is solely responsible for that minor's use of the Platform. You agree to provide accurate, current information, to keep your login credentials secure, and you are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. What CricConnect is — and is not. CricConnect is a listing and matchmaking venue that helps users discover and connect with one another. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, any tournament, coaching camp, training session, academy programme, umpire booking, team arrangement, payment, transaction, agreement, or event that is organised, advertised, or arranged between users. All such arrangements are solely between the users involved. We do not organise, host, supervise, fund, endorse, guarantee, insure, or verify any event, organiser, coach, academy, team, player, or umpire listed on the Platform, and we do not conduct background checks. You interact and deal with other users at your own risk.
4. User-organised events, payments & in-person safety. Tournaments, camps, training sessions, academy programmes, and umpire bookings are organised and run by users, not by CricConnect. Event fees, deposits, and other payments may be collected by the organiser using their own chosen methods (such as cash, bank transfer, or third-party apps), or — where the organiser has enabled it — through the Platform's optional card-payment feature described in Section 6. Using the card feature is always your choice: you may instead pay the organiser directly by any method they accept, and some organisers may not offer card payment at all. However an event fee is paid, CricConnect does not hold, escrow, or guarantee the payment, and is not responsible for the event or for any refund, cancellation, dispute, no-show, injury, loss, or for the conduct, quality, credibility, legality, or safety of any event, organiser, or service. Organisers are solely responsible for obtaining any permits, licences, insurance, safeguarding measures, and legal compliance for their events. You attend and participate in any event entirely at your own risk.
5. Minors & safeguarding. Coaching camps, academies, and certain events may involve minors. Parents and legal guardians are solely responsible for the supervision, welfare, and consent of any minor in their care. CricConnect does not vet, screen, train, or background-check coaches, organisers, or other users, and makes no representation about their suitability to work with children. Anyone who interacts with minors through connections made on the Platform must comply with all applicable child-protection and safeguarding laws. Report any safety concern to your local authorities and to us at CricConnect@gmail.com.
6. Fees, payment & refunds — Access Fee. Access to the Platform, or to certain features, may require a one-time access fee of US$10 (the "Access Fee"), processed by our third-party payment provider (Stripe on the web) or, where you purchase within our mobile apps, by the relevant app store (Google Play or Apple) under their billing systems. Amounts are stated in US dollars unless shown otherwise, and you are responsible for any applicable taxes. The Access Fee is non-refundable to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Because access is granted immediately on payment, you expressly request immediate provision of the service and, where permitted, acknowledge that you thereby waive any statutory cooling-off or cancellation period.
Event Fees & the optional card feature. Some tournament organisers, coaches, and academies (each an "Organiser") set tournament entry fees, camp or session fees, deposits, and similar fees ("Event Fees"). Where an Organiser has enabled it, you may choose to pay an Event Fee by card through a feature CricConnect provides using Stripe and its Stripe Connect service. Using this feature is entirely optional — you may instead pay the Organiser directly by any method they accept, and some Organisers may not offer card payment at all. Where you do pay by card through the Platform: (a) the Organiser, not CricConnect, is the seller and merchant of record; (b) funds are charged on and paid directly to the Organiser's own Stripe account — CricConnect does not receive, hold, escrow, control, or take any commission from them; (c) CricConnect acts only as a technology facilitator that shows the Organiser's fee and routes you to Stripe's checkout; and (d) your contract for the event, and any refund, is solely between you and the Organiser.
Refunds & disputes. All Event Fees are payable to, and refundable (if at all) only by, the relevant Organiser, on the Organiser's own terms. CricConnect does not issue, fund, approve, mediate, or guarantee any refund, and to the maximum extent permitted by law provides no refunds of any kind. CricConnect does not verify and is not responsible for the existence, identity, credibility, cancellation, quality, safety, legality, or non-occurrence of any event or Organiser, or for any Event Fee, refund, chargeback, or dispute relating to it. Because Event Fees are charged on the Organiser's account, any payment dispute, reversal, or chargeback is solely between you, the Organiser, and your card issuer, and CricConnect is not a party to it; initiating a chargeback or payment dispute in bad faith may result in suspension or termination of your account. Nothing in this Section limits any non-excludable rights you may have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence (for example, under the Australian Consumer Law or UK/EU consumer regulations), which prevail to the extent they apply.
7. Acceptable use. You agree not to: post false, misleading, unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, or harmful content; impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation; spam or solicit users for unrelated purposes; harvest, scrape, or bulk-extract data; interfere with or attempt to breach the Platform's security; or use the Platform for any unlawful purpose. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion.
8. Your content. Content you submit (your profile, listings, announcements, reviews, and messages) remains yours. By posting it, you grant CricConnect a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely to operate, promote, and improve the Platform. You are responsible for your content and represent that you have the rights to post it.
9. Disclaimers. The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any listing, user, or event is genuine, safe, lawful, or suitable.
10. Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CricConnect and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, personal injury, or loss arising out of your use of the Platform or out of any interaction, transaction, or event between users. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US$100. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
11. Indemnification. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CricConnect and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Platform, your interactions or events with other users, or your breach of these Terms or of any law.
12. Suspension & termination. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any breach of these Terms or where we reasonably consider it necessary. You may stop using the Platform and request account deletion at any time by emailing CricConnect@gmail.com. Any Access Fee already paid is non-refundable on termination, except where a refund is required by law.
13. Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law & disputes. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Illinois — except that, if you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection laws, and the courts, of your country of residence where those laws so require. Before bringing any claim, you agree to first contact us at CricConnect@gmail.com to seek an informal, good-faith resolution.
15. Contact. Questions about these Terms: CricConnect@gmail.com.
B. Privacy Policy
1. What we collect. The account and profile details you provide (such as name, email, location, role, and cricket information), the content you choose to publish, and basic technical data (such as log and device information) needed to operate and secure the Platform.
2. How we use it. To provide and improve the Platform, enable matchmaking and connections, send the service and notification messages you opt into, maintain security, and comply with law. For users in the UK, EU, and similar regions, our legal bases are performance of our contract with you, your consent (which you may withdraw), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Platform.
3. Sharing. We do not sell your personal data. Profile and listing content you publish is visible to other users by design. We share data with service providers who help us run the Platform — including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (web payments), Google Play and Apple (in-app payments on their respective mobile apps), Netlify (hosting), and Cloudflare (security) — who process it on our behalf. We may disclose data where required by law.
4. International transfers. The Platform operates globally, and your data may be processed in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
5. Retention & your rights. We keep your data while your account is active and for as long as needed for legal and operational purposes. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data and to object to certain processing (including under the GDPR, UK-GDPR, and the CCPA). To exercise these, email CricConnect@gmail.com.
6. Children's privacy. The Platform is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EU), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data without verifiable parental consent. Any account relating to a minor must be created and managed by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided data without consent, contact CricConnect@gmail.com and we will remove it.
7. Cookies & storage. We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to run core features. We do not use them for third-party advertising.
8. Security & contact. We use reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Privacy questions or requests: CricConnect@gmail.com.
C. Intellectual Property
Trademarks. CricConnect and CricScore are trademarks of CricConnect. Use of these marks — including in URLs, app names, written publications, or other media — without our prior written consent is prohibited.
Copyright. The CricConnect wordmark, logo mark, the platform user interface, source code, written content, illustrations, and design are the property of CricConnect and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws.
Prohibited without prior written consent:
Your content licence. Content you submit (your profile, your listings, your announcements, your reviews) remains your own. By posting it on the Platform you grant CricConnect a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host and display it for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.
Independence. CricConnect is an independent platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by USA Cricket, Cricket Canada, the England and Wales Cricket Board, Cricket Australia, the BCCI, Cricket West Indies, the International Cricket Council, or any other cricket board, league, or governing body.
Licensing & partnership inquiries. If you'd like to feature, embed, share, or build on top of any CricConnect content or branding — we're approachable. Email CricConnect@gmail.com.
D. Organiser Agreement
This Organiser Agreement applies to any user who lists or runs a tournament, coaching camp, academy programme, or other event (an "Organiser"), and in particular to any Organiser who enables card payments through the Platform. By setting up payouts or accepting Event Fees through the Platform, you agree to the following, in addition to the Terms above.
1. Merchant of record. You are the seller and merchant of record for your events and for all Event Fees you collect. CricConnect is only a technology facilitator and is not a party to your sale.
2. Direct payments. Event Fees paid by card are charged on, and settled directly to, your own connected Stripe account. CricConnect does not receive, hold, escrow, or control those funds and takes no commission.
3. Delivery & refunds. You are solely responsible for delivering your event as advertised and for handling all refunds, cancellations, postponements, no-shows, disputes, and chargebacks. CricConnect issues no refunds and will not mediate disputes between you and your participants.
4. Taxes & compliance. You are responsible for all applicable taxes on your Event Fees, and for all permits, licences, insurance, safeguarding measures, and legal compliance relating to your events.
5. Stripe terms. You must comply with the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and Stripe's applicable terms. Stripe may hold, review, reverse, or release funds under its own terms; CricConnect is not responsible for Stripe's decisions or for the timing of your payouts.
6. Accurate listings. You will keep your event listings, fees, dates, and details accurate and not misleading, and will not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
7. Indemnity. You indemnify and hold harmless CricConnect and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your events, your Event Fees, your refunds or disputes, your taxes, or your breach of this Agreement or of any law.
8. Suspension. CricConnect may disable your payment feature, remove your listings, or suspend your account if you breach this Agreement, or where CricConnect reasonably considers it necessary.
9. Acknowledgement. CricConnect records your acceptance of this Agreement (including the date and version) at the time you set up payouts.
